Epistates, Inc. is a Delaware C-Corporation building software across three areas: AI systems and developer tools, macOS productivity software, and privacy-first consumer apps.
We don't believe in shipping for the sake of shipping. Every product starts with a problem worth solving and ends with something we'd want to use ourselves.
What we believe
Depth over breadth.
We'd rather ship one carefully-considered product than six forgettable ones. Our team is small, our standards are high, and our roadmap is selective. The result is software that rewards attention.
Privacy is the default.
Across every consumer product we build, user data stays on the user's device. No accounts, no tracking, no analytics pipelines, no third-party SDKs. When we say “private,” we mean we can't see your data even if we wanted to.
Open when it helps.
We release infrastructure, SDKs, and developer tooling as open source when it accelerates the ecosystem. TurboMCP, pMetal, and Tauq are all public. Our consumer products remain closed-source to protect user trust and product integrity.
Sustainable by design.
We build products with straightforward business models — paid tools, consulting engagements, one-time purchases, optional premium upgrades. No growth-hacking, no dark patterns, no dependency on surveillance advertising.
